Nowadays, the study of Haidong Gumdo offers many opportunities to search deep within, inducing a strong physical commitment, and learning the techniques awakens the sense of fragility and brevity of life.


Korea is primarily known as the country of the East Sea, however, the representation that Haidong Gumdo conveys induces many meanings, the general idea remaining around "the sea and the east".


The name of the art was chosen to convey the symbol of the tradition of the Korean way of the sword, and also to have in mind the representation of the first rays of the sun, as relentlessly brandished as a sword "executing justice with the 'sunlight energy reflected from the sword'.



The art of Haidong Gumdo is thus practiced with several categories of weapons, and a common core of techniques so that each student can seek further the very essence of the practice.



Haidong Gumdo is a Martial Art open to all and very complete: meditation work, breathing, combat, codified sequence, cut on various supports, choreographed form, and for the most experts: practice with two swords and techniques with bare hands... This Martial Art allows you to progress more in understanding yourself and others.

Far from any spirit of competition, Haidong Gumdo aims at physical well-being.e and spirituality of each of the practitioners in a respectful and family work atmosphere. Anchored in Korean history and traditions, this thousand-year-old Martial Art also allows you to understand and discover still unknown facets of Korean culture.
